Annually on 8th March, thousands of events are held the world over to inspire women and celebrate achievements; all while advocating for gender equity since the early 1900s.
The 2015 theme is ‘Make It Happen’, encouraging effective action for advancing and recognizing women.
The Unilife Movement intends to celebrate this year’s IWD with a focus on
‘Achieving Gender Equity through Education and Economic Empowerment’ through an interactive two day camp that will engage actors interested in women empowerment through education and economic empowerment.
The UniLife Movement
The Unilife Movement is a youth-run organization with an active membership of over 200 Kenyan youth in tertiary learning institutions; that purposes to create change in the current young generation through empowerment in leadership grounded on the principles of spirituality, service leadership and inspiration towards a stronger society. It is basically a platform through which young people interact and work towards making that needed change in society.
Interactions with youth take place through talks in schools, club meetings, rallies, campaign drives, online interactions and many other avenues.
